Anchor of Promise #43 “God NEVER disappoints!”
Promises are something we tend to make with good intentions, but lack in fulfilling them. We sometimes even add on to our promises as if we are bartering. “IF you do _____ I will promise to do ____”. Guilty, I do this with my kids sometimes.
I only know one person that has ever been able to follow through with EVERY promise. Jesus.
Deuteronomy 7:9- ” Know therefore, that the Lord your God is God. He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a 1,000 generations of those who love Him and keep His commands.”
1 Kings 8:56- ” Praise be to the Lord, who has given rest to His people Israel just as He promised. NOT ONE WORD has failed of all the good promises He gave through His servant Moses.”
Psalm 145:13- ” Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is TRUSTWORTHY in ALL He promises and FAITHFUL in ALL He DOES.”
Don’t you just love how the people of the Bible wrote about God’s faithful loving commitment to His people? The best part about the Bible is that it is ALIVE and relevant for us today! How do we know this? Well in John 1:1 it says that “In the beginning was the Word (Jesus), and the WORD was with God. and the Word WAS God.” Jesus is the word and since the beginning of time, He has been faithful and will remain faithful until the day He returns for us. We can trust that although we read of times of old, that He is still the same and remains the same faithful God that delivers His promises to each and every one of us. (Hebrews 13:8- “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”)
- Salvation (John 3:16, Romans 10:9)
- Provision (Philippians 4:19)
- Rest (Matthew 11:28, 29)
- Victory over sin (1 Corinthians 10:13)
- Hope for our soul (Hebrews 6:19)
- Perfect peace (John 14:27, Philippians 4:6,7)
- Jesus is coming again (John 14:2,3)
- and so many many more!
If you truly believe that God delivers and never disappoints, then your prayer life will be abundant in confidence, boldness, power, joy, and trust. God wants us to trust that He will fulfill His promises to us. He never reveals when He will deliver us from trials, pains etc. But He promises that He stay by your side while you go through it all. He will give you grace that is sufficient and strength to make it through. (Philippians 1:6, Philippians 4:13, 2 Corinthians 12:9)

My hope for you today is that you will go back and read each scripture reference that I have typed out and see for yourself just how much God wants to show you that He can be trusted and that He will never disappoint you. His promises are endless and I am so thankful that He has one for almost any situation, fear, trial, etc. The Creator of the extravagant universe, holds each and every one of us in His hands, and will always, ALWAYS see us through.
