Anchor of Promise #28 Your Work is NOT in Vain

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 15:58

IMG_20150717_094903When we use our talents or do a service for God, we are promised that it is not in vain. Even when no one notices or gives us a “good job!”, God wants you to know that if you continue to do it for Him and not men’s appreciation, then your work is not in vain. (“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men.”- Colossians 3:23)

Paul was trying to encourage the people in the churches he had started to keep doing the work of the Lord. Even when it was difficult or they were not seeing visual results.

Do you ever feel like your work is going unnoticed or is unappreciated? There are many days I feel like that, but it’s in those moments of weakness that I take on Paul’s challenge to keep being intentional and doing what God has called me to do.

If your work is done with the right motive and is for an audience of One (being God) then your work is not done in vain! Keep going my friend and keep pursuing God’s plans for you by using your talents! You may not have a bunch of “likes” or “followers” but God sees what you are doing and to Him it’s a sweet aroma! (Ephesians 5:2)
