Peace in the Middle of Chaos {Anchor of Trust #26}

Anchor of Promise #26 Peace in the Middle of Chaos

“You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You. Because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, For in Yah, the Lord is everlasting strength.” – Isaiah 26:3,4

I think the promises that deal with peace and joy are my favorite ones to write about. Only because there are so many times in the Bible that Jesus tells us over and over again to TRUST! TRUST! TRUST! Repetition is used so much through out scripture because I’m sure God knows that we need it daily!

God wants us to trust Him fully. He invites us to do it. He doesn’t want us who claim “Jesus” to live a life of fear, worry, or doubt.  When we do live in fear, worry, or doubt that doesn’t tell the world much about God. In fact it shows to them that God is small.  Instead God wants us to magnify Him, so how do we do that?

In our weaknesses or trials we point to His amazing power and strength to help us through. When trials come our way, our trust is so strong and sure that people will be confused on why we are not complaining or mad at God for allowing things to happen.

tumblr_kuqviivOUY1qayb96o1_1280When my Mom died in 1994, I knew the only reason we made it through that and still can make it through thinking about it, is God’s amazing grace. We trusted that although we didn’t understand God’s reason for it, that He knew what He was doing. Does that mean I never played the “what if” game? Nope. Don’t think for a minute that when I went and tried on wedding dresses alone that I didn’t ask “what if my Mom were here, she would be in tears.” or even just in the significant moments of life..graduation, going off to college, getting married, having kids etc. But you know what God instead gave me a woman in my life that became a Mom to me very quickly..It was rough at the start and middle but now we talk for hours on the phone. She prays with me and has always had Godly advice to give me. You see God knows what we need when we need it. He is always working on our behalf and when we don’t see the results of His work or don’t feel He is present, it doesn’t mean He isn’t doing it. Faith is a key factor in trust. Faith is what keeps our anchor of trust in God when calamities in life happen.

He promises perfect peace to those who full out trust in Him. How amazing to know that the One who gave all the stars their names, knows you and I personally. He holds our lives in His hands and promises to take the burdens away from us that He never intended for us to carry.

I encourage you to lay down the weights you have been carrying. So many things are out of our control and it is by faith that we trust that our Savior is never taken by surprise, but is orderly and on time.
