I love today’s Anchor of Promise (I love them all let’s be honest) but this one hits home with me because of having a busy life as a Mom of 2 toddlers (boy is 3, girl is 1) plus my husband’s Police schedule is never the same.
Energy is a huge need in my life. Thankfully I have some great things that help with that, but the one that gives my soul energy is God’s promise that HE NEVER GROWS WEARY!
Isaiah 40:28- ” Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the Lord, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither FAINTS nor is WEARY. His understanding is unsearchable.”
I love how Isaiah (the writer of this passage) reminds us that God is the Creator of the universe, how He is the busiest person out of everyone in this world. He reminds us that while God is busy being: All knowing, every where at all times, listening to the prayers of His children, defending us from Satan’s accusations, answering prayer, sending comfort, keeping the universe in tact etc. That HE NEVER GROWS WEARY..the best part about this verse is that amidst all the things God is in charge of, He cares so much for us to help us when we get weary. The next verses are promises as well!
“He gives power to the weak. And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall. But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”– Verses 29-31
God knows we are powerless without His strength. He is always one step ahead of us providing our needs for our day and opportunities to claim His promise of a helpful hand. It’s never His fault when we feel so confused or exhausted because He offers such a peace and calmness when we wake up each day surrendering the day to Him and asking for His strength. We just forget to do that and get frustrated as the day progresses because we started the day by holding onto a heavy anchor that was supposed to be thrown into Him!
Remember this promise that God is never tired of helping, listening, providing, speaking through His word, to you and I. He desires to be there for us. Just like a mother eagle teaches her babies to fly, she is always underneath them to catch them with her wings and brings them back to the nest.
Call out to God and allow Him to lift you up and bring you back to the place of peace and rest. He promises He wants to and will always do this when we need it! Which for me is almost hourly!
